Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)
Your BAH will be used in one of two ways. You can either rent on base or you can live off base. If you live off base, you can either rent or buy. Click Here for current BAH rates.
On Base Housing ( Rent On-Base )
You can contact the housing office at 310-363-8397. Please keep in mind that there is a process involved in renting on Base housing to include wait times.
Off Base Single Family Rentals-You can choose to rent off base if you wish. Check our database for available single-family homes.

Los Angeles Air Force Base is home to the Space and Missile Systems Center which manages research and development for the military space systems. The main wing on the base is the 61st Air Base Wing which offers support for the base. It launched the first space-based Space Surveillance aircraft in 2010. The housing office at Los Angeles Air Force Base is located at Fort MacArthur in Building 56 in San Pedro, California. Over 1,400 homes were recently built in the planned community of Tierra Vista Communities. The housing office can provide a list of available properties both on and off post including homes for rent, homes for sale, and apartment complexes. The new communities will be shared by Los Angeles, Shriever, and Peterson Air Force Bases.
Los Angeles Air Force Base does not currently have any schools on-site. Community schools offer over 80 public school districts for children K-12. Depending on the residence location, children will be assigned to the appropriate school district upon arrival. Many charter and public schools are available. Most local schools offer college preparatory classes. Some districts do require that students wear uniforms. Medical care at the Los Angeles Air Force Base is provided by the 61st Medical Group that is located in Building 210 on base. The clinic is open Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. After hours, call 1-888-874-9378 or for emergencies, dial 911.
